Elsie Hui Li

A few TAs Reported Today....

So we are at the (almost) last step of the pre-China process. We are waiting for our travel approval from China. A quick summary - your agency sends your Letter of Acceptance (LOA), or formal document saying you've accepted your referral, to China. The CCAA (Chinese adoption authority) contacts the Social Welfare Institute (SWI) where your child is from to confirm he/she is still available for adoption (a formality). Once this has been confirmed, the CCAA sends your TA - the document that says you are authorized by the CCAA to travel to China and adopt the child. So...average wait for TA is 35 days - we are on day 37. We had originally thought we would be faster than the average, but now we are the family with the longest wait on the chart. :( 2 families reported receiving their TA today - the 2 longest waiting families - so that moved us to the top of the list. Since its only 2, and noon agency time, maybe there is still hope for today!!!

Waiting to go see Elsie...
